Why Your Kid Hates Math (Part 3)
Think about this. In June, you were glad your kid got that D. It meant she was going to pass. The pressure was finally off. Then you could look forward to summer break. Everything was fine.
Then it got closer to school starting.
When it started, your kid said everything was okay. You bought it. Over time, you ended up right back where you were. She misunderstood something…again. You tried to be supportive. Next thing you know…progress reports ..Labor Day… emails from the teacher…Rosh Hashanah…recommendations for tutoring…Thanksgiving…Hanukkah…Christmas…winter break…Kwanzaa…report cards… and the first semester’s over just like that.
Aren’t you tired of wondering if your kid is going to pass first semester?
Do you get tired of sweating blood every April because your kid may not pass to the next grade or course in June? Again? Spring break…Passover…Easter…Prom…Ramadan…Mother’s Day…Father’s Day…graduations…weddings…Tons of make-up homework and late nights trying to pass with a D can’t be how you want to spend your afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
As badly as you feel for your kid, who’s the one having the daily drama over math?
Your teenager is the one taking a beating from math each day.
No amount of empathy will stop the suffering.
